An interesting interview by Johann Grolle at Spiegel Online:Nobel Physicist Frank Wilczek: ‘The World is a Piece of Art’The world is a piece of art, produced according to a very peculiar style. So…what is the Monday Poll? Good question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll. It’s just a list of five more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past gazillion years (more than 10!). He said that time moves faster as you get older, and I didn’t understand it at the time, but I totally get it now. Nowadays, it feels like I go from task to task to task until I pass out. Then I wake up and do it all over again. Then I look up and it’s December, and another year...

LIGO Detects Gravitational Waves for Third TimeThe newfound black hole has a final mass about 49 times that of our sun. This fills in a gap between the masses of the two merged black holes detected previously by LIGO, with solar masses of 62 (first detection) and 21 (second detection). From the Now@Caltech press releaseSee also: Physics Synopsis: LIGO Picks Up on the Third Ring Physical Review Letters: GW170104: Observation of a 50-Solar-Mass Binary Black Hole Coalescence at Redshift 0.2 (PDF) High-Resolution Visuals LIGO Laboratory Website
